Delhi-6 is directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra that will star Abhishek Bachchan , Sonam Kapoor, Om Puri, Atul Kulkarni, and Divya Dutta. Delhi-6 is based on Mehra's growing up years in Chandni Chowk area of Old Delhi. The film will be Mehra's third directorial venture after the immensely successful Rang De Basanti, which had been selected as India's official entry to the Oscars and critically acclaimed Aks. A.R. Rahman is the music director of this film and Prasoon Joshi is the lyricist. Sonu Nigam and Sukhwinder Singh have sung songs in the film.

American-born Roshan (Abhishek Bachchan) brings his ailing grandmother back to India. Little does he know that the quick trip will turn into the longest journey of his life - a journey within. The backdrop of the story is the ancient walled city of Delhi, a character in herself. She represents the chaos, religion, beliefs and ethos of the Indian people. The pin code of the city is 110006, and with pride of love they call her Delhi-6. Amitabh Bachchan reportedly has a small role in the film where he is supposed to play the grandfather to Roshan, played by Abhishek Bachchan. Waheeda Rahman will play the grandmother of the same character. Gulshan Grover has been roped in to play Abhishek Bachchan's dad in the film.

Billu Barber starring Irfan Khan and Lara Dutta in the lead roles, and Shahrukh Khan for the first time in a supporting role is scheduled to release on February 13, 2009. The film also features Om Puri, Rajpal Yadav and Asrani in supporting roles with guest appearances by actresses Kareena Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra. The film has music by Pritam with lyrics from Gulzar. The film, which is a remake of the hugely successful Malayalam film Kadha Parayumbol, has already been remade in Tamil as Kuselan starring Pasupathy and Rajinikanth but met a poor box office reception.

The story is set in today's day and age. Billu (Irfan Khan) plays a village barber. His business is running low because he has not been able to upgrade himself according to the changing trends. One fine day, a film unit visits his village to shoot a movie. It stars a superstar (Shahrukh Khan), who Billu claims to have been friends with. All at once, Billu's status in the village changes, and he becomes highly respected. Everyone wants him to meet the superstar through Billu. But Billu is unsure, as he feels he cannot compare to the superstar's status. Besides, he fears that the star may not recognize him. He makes many attempts to meet the star but fails. After all these hardships, he gives up. The villages believe he lied about the relationship with the star and insult him. His family and children also gets upset and badmouth him. In a twist towards the end, the true extent of the friendship Billu and the superstar is revealed.
